geatali is a choreographer and dancer in the NJ/NY/PA area, who has spent her lifetime training and diversifying her repertoire, performing, and honing her voice as a choreographer. she is most well-known for her innovative fusion choreography- blending the Indian classical dance style of Bharatanatyam with contemporary, hip hop, West African, flamenco, Bollywood, and Indian folk styles of dance. her work is an expression of life- unbound by language or genre, led by intuition and expression. she tells abstract stories guided by musicality, and as a performer geatali transforms any stage to a space of pure consciousness- movement becomes meditation.
geatali is also a teaching artist, and she especially loves sharing the history and diversity of South Asian dance styles with new students and audiences. she believes that dance has the ability to break boundaries, build community, and transcend the mind, body, and soul.
having the soul of a creative, geatali expresses herself through multiple mediums- painting, modeling, acting, drawing, digital art, fashion, and more. her various pursuits inspire one another and she loves finding ways to combine them in unique and interesting ways. regardless of the form of art, geatali is a storyteller at heart and aspires to use the power of art to inspire exploration, passion, and love in the lives of others.
